Why I love to work as a freelancer

You probably hear a lot of people dreaming about being their own bosses. Well, when you work as a freelancer, you have this privilege. You are your own boss, being the one that plans the day’s schedule, deciding what work needs to be done, and what clients are most suitable for a successful business relationship. Of course, it isn’t all just milk and honey, because there are some downsides as well. The biggest disadvantage is that you will earn as much as you will work. So if you don’t work, you won’t have money either. But, we shall stick to the positive side for now, as I am going to tell you why I love to work as a freelancer.

Even if the start in this domain can be challenging and difficult, because the competition is quite harsh, if you work hard and are patient, the reward is awesome. You will have the satisfaction of doing something with your own strengths and capabilities. Practically, without you even knowing, you will build a small business that is your own. And all this happens due to your talents, dedication, hard work, and ambition. It is quite uplifting and helps your self-esteem boost knowing that you managed to find a way to do what you like and earn money out of it. Not very many people succeed in doing such a thing, so you will definitely stir admiration and interest from the people around you, when you will tell them what you do as a job.

Freelancers – always flexible ..

freelancer1Also, I have to admit that I love the flexibility of my schedule. I love the fact that I don’t have to be up at 6.30 a.m. sharp, because no one will baste me if I will be late for work. I will spoil myself just a bit longer in bed, if I know that there is nothing urgent to work on in the morning. So yes, I won’t sleep late every day, because it depends on how I created my schedule for the day and how much work needs to be done. You see, having a flexible schedule can be quite a beautiful mirage, but a freelancer always have to bear in mind that his or her clients matter the most. If you keep postponing them or you’re constantly late with your deadlines, just because you wanted to take some free time or you decided that other activities are more important, you will never make it as a freelancer. It is great to be able to split your time in the way you desire, but you also need to be very organized and make sure that you are a professional at what you do, and respect the set deadlines.

It was a bit of a challenge to figure out an efficient way to deal with my time, but once I did it, I can successfully entwine my working hours with the rest of my daily activities. I love the fact that I can get up and go shopping whenever I feel like it, without anyone asking me where I go. If I feel tired at noon, I can easily lay down, with a soft blanket on top of me, and take a nap, just like that. Working as a freelancer has its challenges, there is no doubt about it, but it also gives you a freedom that is very hard to find anywhere else.
